The local land trust organises field trips for members.
Sandhills Natural History Society (SNHS)
The society has a meeting on the fourth Monday of every month in the Pinehurst / Southern Pines area and sponsors field trips. Membership costs $5.00 a year. For information about membership, meetings, and field trips send an email to: snhs@earthlink.net.
Staff at the Weymouth Woods State Park have information on SNHS as well.

North Carolina
The North Carolina chapter of the Audubon Society hosts field trips for members.
The Carolina Bird Club organizes a weekend of birding trips three times a year. The web site hosts a photo gallery of interesting bird sightings and identification problems. The club covers both North and South Carolina.
